At Chamberlain Property Group, we know we service an extraordinary part of the world.
The Okanagan is known for its incredible lifestyle, spectacular nature, and its outstanding food and wine scene. But the COVID-19 crisis has shed light on an aspect of the Okanagan that’s always there, but isn’t always in the limelight – the generous nature of the people who live here.
Several weeks ago, we put out a call for food donations for the Penticton Salvation Army. With so many of us taking on new roles in uncertain times, we thought we’d challenge ourselves to raise a 1,000-pound donation to help some of our region’s neediest families.
We surpassed that goal in just a few days.
Now, we’re on a mission to raise an additional 4,000+ pounds for our local heroes at the Salvation Army (to bring the total to more than 5,000 pounds).
Food Donations During COVID-19
Everyone has been forced to change the way they work to cope with COVID-19.
At Chamberlain, we’ve been working on virtual tours and keeping our face-to-face contact with buyers and sellers to an absolute minimum. It’s not something that comes naturally to us, but it’s something we’re more than happy to do to help flatten the curve.
The Penticton Food Bank is faced with an unfortunate reality that the pandemic is affecting donations, while the number of needy and vulnerable people relying on their services looks set to rise.
In March, Castanet released this video:
In it, Major Paul Trickett outlines that about 12,000 pounds less food had come in over the past months due to the pandemic.
With your help, we can bridge the gap while flatting the curve.
Your Donations Change Lives
You can donate any non-perishable items to the Penticton Food Bank.
The best part is – you don’t even need to leave the safety of your own home.
Just give us a call and we’ll arrange a time to collect your donation from outside your home. We might give you a wave, but we’re keeping all our collections (and our delivery) COVID-19 safe by keeping our distance.
Arrange Collection of Your Food Bank Donation
We can arrange pickup times from Monday to Sunday, any time between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Bear in mind, we need to work around our current workload and schedules. But we’ll do everything we can to make it convenient and hassle free.
To schedule a pickup, call or text Kirk at .
Thank You for Your Generosity
We couldn’t be prouder of how all the amazing people in our region have come together during this incredibly tough period of social distancing and uncertainty. Your generosity hasn’t gone unnoticed.
From all of us at Chamberlain Property Group, thank you for your kindness and your kind donations.
Stay safe!
